Eijun Linda Cutts came to San Francisco Zen Center in 1971, where she practiced with Suzuki Roshi, Zentatsu Baker, and Tenshin Reb Anderson. She was ordained as a priest in 1975 and has lived at Tassajara, San Francisco City Center and since 1993, she and her family have lived at Green Gulch Farm. Linda is married to Steve Weintraub, a Zen priest and psychotherapist, and they have two adult children—Sarah, who is Executive Director of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship, and David, who is an accountant and climbs mountains. Linda’s son Johnathan is in acupuncture school and practices kung fu. In 1996 Linda received dharma transmission from Tenshin Roshi and served as Abbess of San Francisco Zen Center from 2000 to 2007. She continues to teach and lead practice periods and retreats at Tassajara, Green Gulch, and elsewhere.
