Fall 2010 Practice Period at Tassajara

Tassajara’s ninety-day practice period follows the traditional Soto Zen monastic schedule. This practice period is an opportunity for experienced practitioners to join with the Tassajara community in intensive practice at Zen Mountain Center (Zenshinji).

Prerequisite for practice at Tassajara is completion of at least one residential practice period at San Francisco Zen Center’s City Center or Green Gulch Farm; or equivalent experience.

Practice Period fees: $2,780 US, includes room, board, and tuition.

Senior Dharma Teacher Tenshin Reb Anderson
Tenshin Reb Anderson practiced with Suzuki Roshi, who ordained him as a priest in 1970 and gave him the name Tenshin Zenki ("Naturally Real, The Whole Works"). He received dharma transmission in 1983 and served as abbot of San Francisco Zen Center from 1986 to 1995. Tenshin Reb Anderson continues to teach at Zen Center, living with his family at Green Gulch Farm.
